The Elsa Lab project – a winner of the joint RFBR –JSPS competition

The project “Manipulating Terahertz Waves  by Means of Planar Metamaterials” prepared by the Elsa Lab team in collaboration with the research group at the Institute of Laser Engineering, Osaka University, Japan is one of the winners of the joint competition organized by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. The Project Leaders are Prof. M.I. Bakunov and Prof. Masanori Hangyo.

The project goal is development of efficient methods for controlling the properties of terahertz electromagnetic waves using unique properties of thin-layer artificial microstructured media – planar materials.

57 projects took part in the competition, only 15 of which obtained support.
